In the early days, Mahan did not allow anyone to garland his photos. Later when he found out the florists were hard struck by this, his decision was changed and garlanding his photos were allowed esp.jasmine and rose flowers. Mahan was very practical in all everyday activities .Once in 1980 at KL Sabhai, one member was absent for 2 continuous days. When Mahan inquired as to why this disciple did not turn up, it was explained to him that the disciple was doing overtime and thus could not attend. Mahan was happy with this and said that was the correct thing to do. Mahan said duty first and then only meditation. Mahan jokingly said one cannot do meditation on an empty stomach. Santhosham.
