Q&A session with Guru Sitarasu (Part 5)

An incident with Mahan in 1980

On 2nd May 1980, we were celebrating Mahan's birthday at the residence of Guru Paranjothi Sankaran at Lorong Morib,Off Klang Road. I as the Treasurer was busy with the collection of funds and other matters. At 7.30 pm. during the satsang, I noticed 2 new guys were seated in the group. One of them raised a question to Mahan as to why we are collecting money (donations) in a rather sarcastic manner. We wanted to answer this guy but Mahan said he will answer it. Mahan told the guy that we will stop collecting any money with condition that this guy must personally cover all expenses i.e plane ticket for Mahan, cost of running the function, Biryani, canopy etc. Of course this guy said NO and Mahan told him to shut up and sit down. Sometimes we have this kind of half baked morons trying to stir up trouble. They want knowledge, higher wisdom without having to fork out any money. They want it free. I just wonder if they are working for free without any salary.

A special Magic in thoughts

Spiritual Politics: Nowadays there is a trend for both Gurus and Disciples trying to proof to everyone they are the best and have a close relationship with GP Mahan. During his last days, Mahan lamented that he has not found anyone suitable to take over his position. Once in Malaysia, he was asked the question as to whether he could pass his power to anyone suitable. Mahan replied there was no suitable person able to withstand the awesome Kundalini Power and if at all he were to pass the power he might pass it to Dr.Arumugam (proprietor of Thangam Clinic) in Singapore. But then again he said Dr,Arumugam will be burning from inside. Mahan's advice for all disciples would be put your thought on the forehead at all times, meditate at least once a day, and stop finding faults with others. Mahan always mentions a special "Magic" in thoughts and that is Good Thoughts.

Mahan and the Rose plant

During the 70's, when Mahan was in Malaysia and when he was about to leave for India, we asked one disciple to book the air ticket and gave the required cash. This disciple used the cash for his own needs thinking there was still time to book the ticket. When Mahan kept asking if the ticket was taken, all kind of lies was told. Because of this there was a delay in Mahan going back. Eventually, this disciple rolled up the cash and managed to buy the ticket. Mahan made the comment that when a wet dhoti (a piece of white cloth worn by south Indians) is thrown over a thorny rose plant, you have to remove the wet dhoti very carefully so as not to tear it as it will get stuck with the thorns. This ought to be a lesson for disciples not to play-play with Kundalini and the Gurus.

Don't be duped with large gatherings

Sometimes in year 1977, Mahan, Guru Sankaran and myself were enjoying a cup of tea at the garden of the Sabhai at Lorong Morib, Off Klang Road (Guru Sankarans residence) when we heard loud music far away. Mahan inquired what it was and was given the explanation that Sivarathi festival was being celebrated at Sivan Temple, Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya. Mahan commented that in large gatherings there is no higher knowledge and only in quiet small gatherings real wisdom can be found. In large gatherings money grabbing, politics, back stabbing, gossiping will be in the forefront. So do not be duped or awed with large gatherings.

A book on ESP by Edgar Cayce

Edgar Cayce (the sleeping prophet) talked about a dynamic power rising from the Lyden Gland (Muladhara gland) which rises up to the Pituitary gland and then to the Pineal gland. He calls this the Holy Spirit in the book 'ESP and You'. Mahan’s kundalini is exactly the same. 'ESP and You' was written in the early 1930’s
